Book News: A New Series in a New Era at a New Publisher!

Hi friends! I am THRILLED to announce that I’ve signed a 3-book contract with KREGEL Publications for a Regency era series set in Europe! Kregel is an amaaaazing publisher that I have been watching for years with a fantastic historical fiction line!

Wait . . . I thought you only wrote Victorian novels? and I love your Victorian novels.

Don’t worry, I will still be writing Victorian novels set in America! In case you missed the cover reveal for my latest Victorian romance, check it out here!

Why did you go regency?

I’ve always loved the era and it will be a challenge to make sure I do not commit any historical inaccuracies, but I’m excited to venture across the ocean to a whole new writing world and hope you are excited as well! I already have a pile of research books that I am studying and am using writing in the period as the perfect excuse to get my husband to watch all my regency era favorite movies/shows (and some new ones) with me!

A Sneak Peek into the New Regency Series!

Book One. Title TBA!

Chilham in the County of Kent to London, Spring 1813

Sometimes the only way to out stride scandal is to find a crown big enough to silence it.

After breaking off two arranged engagements, country baker turned heiress Muriel Bell takes matters into her own hands and asks the visiting baron she loves to marry her in a very public proposal and is met with an emphatic rejection. With no other course but to flee Kent society, Muriel knows the only way out of this debacle is to out stride it by securing what every society matron dreams of obtaining—a coronet with a sumptuous title to match. And after a glittering reception in the courts of London, Muriel’s dreams might come true after all.

After a decade serving the royal navy, Captain Erik Thorne, the recent heir to Thorne Castle and his uncle’s title, returns home to find his castle in disrepair thanks to his duplicitous steward, bringing about rumors of the earl of Thorneton’s dwindling wealth. Erik soon finds while his rumored pauper state has kept most potential London brides away, the country brides of Kent have no such qualms and are more than willing to fill his coffers with their fathers’ wealth, despite his desire to remain single so he may return to his ship unfettered as soon as his arm is healed from his skirmish with an elusive French spy. But, when he encounters the unconventional Muriel Bell and she becomes inadvertently entangled in his failed mission, he is torn between protecting this enchanting country lady by staying at her side and his calling back to the high seas.

So, When Does the First Book Release?

I’ve already started writing Book One in the series and am trying to finish it before my baby comes in September. Book One will release Spring 2024!! Isn’t it wild that it takes so long for a book to hit the shelves?? (For an impatient person such as myself, I picked a career that requires a truck load of patience haha.)

BUT, until my first regency title releases, I have a Victorian title or two in the works for 2023 that I will be sharing about later!!!
