Gift Ideas for that Writer Friend

coffee and christmas

I love Christmas time, the festivities, lights, Christmas carols and gift exchanges with loved ones. It’s also the one time of year where crisp air and snowflakes are acceptable for this southern girl living in Colorado.

Every year, I like to sift through the writerly gifts and select my favorites that the hubby has given me and the ones that are going on my Christmas list this year. Just click on the picture or title to be taken to the link. Merry Christmas and happy shopping!

Editing Day Mug for $14.50

Editing Day Mug

*The description on Amazon says it’s safe for dishwashers…but after one tragic experience, I discovered it’s not. My editing day mug looks like it’s crying black tears, but one could say that is symbolic of a rough editing day.  But, I love it so much, I am replacing it with a new “editing day” mug and keeping it away from the dishwasher!!!

Felt Lettering Board for $33

Felt Lettering Board

So, I saw this post on another author’s blog and found a version on Amazon that I  LOVE. It is now on my Christmas list. What a fun way to have a quote of the week or leave sweet notes!

2018 Agenda for $30

Rifle Paper

Every writer needs a place to plan, right? Last year, I bought this Rifle Paper Co. agenda and it is one of the best I’ve ever had, so I bought it for my Christmas gift again this year. It’s so pretty and is easy to tote!

The Emotion Thesaurus for $14.50

Emotion Thesaurus

I know it may not sound like an exciting gift, buuuuut I’m always thrilled to adopt a new research book! And I use my emotion thesaurus every single time I write a new piece. If you want to describe an emotion without using generic words for the hundredth time, this is a great tool!

An Amazon Fire HD Tablet for $50 and up.

Kindle Fire 7

I know this one is kind of an expensive gift, but the prices will vary depending on which one you get. My husband bought me the Fire HD 8 earlier this year and it is great for reading your e-books, checking your email and tons of other apps 🙂

Marrying Mr. Darcy Card Game for $45 (prices vary)

Marrying Mr. Darcy

I got this for Christmas last year and my Austen fan friends and I are obsessed with it! Such a fun card game. The object is to get your heroine to marry the most “suitable” suitor and to collect character points and whoever has the most points at the end of the game,  wins! So, marrying Mr. Darcy is just the beginning. Your heroine can marry Mr. Wickham, Mr. Collins, Mr. Bingley, etc. And, you can even buy an “Emma expansion pack.” Side note: to get my husband to play the game with me, I had to buy the “Zombie expansion” pack.

A book! (Here is where I do a shameless plug) The Second Chance Brides Collection for $15

The Second Chance Brides Collection

As a new mom, I find that it is getting harder and harder to find time to read during the week, but Barbour Publishing’s novella collections are a quick way to get your reading fix during nap time! (During the weekend when my hubby is home and is playing with the baby, I dive into those delicious full-length novels.)
